And so it starts ......
Yesterday was payday so technically my month has started, food-wise. This afternoon saw me going to the store for just a couple of things.
Here is what I started with:
$125.00 two week food money
10.00 some of dh's birthday money
$135.00
The reason dh gave me some of his birthday money for food is that he wanted me to pick up beer for him. He knows that I don't count that as food so he gave me extra to buy it. I went to Kroger to pick up the following:
6 pk of beer
pkg of provolone cheese
pkg of hot dog buns
$14.12 out the door.
Left for two weeks: $121

Sorry it has been dark the last couple of days. Dh has had some health issues that I have been trying to help him with. My month officially starts on Friday with payday. I still haven't inventoried or meal planned yet but I have a couple of days. Today started my 15 days of craft shows in 31 days. I have been up since 4:45 so I could be there by 5:15 to set up. This is AM folks. lol Show ran from 7 am to noon. Tuesdays are usually very slow so I was tickled that I had some sales. Hope to be back tomorrow with some planning.

Thursday, September 27
Went back to Kroger yesterday to pick up meds and dh wanted "snack" foods. So I spent $26.98 and got the following:
2 bags wavy potato chips
1 container french onion dip
1 container Sargento breaks
1 veggie tray (marked down to $3.99)
3 12 pks of Pepsi Zero
1 bag Skinny pop popcorn
The soda is for his lunches. He normally takes 3 cans a day. I got $2.75 from Ibotta.
Today I went to Walmart. Though I dislike going there mine has a fabric section that is the only place I can find one particular fat quarter that I sell also of at shows. So, $6.20 of my total is for fabric.
I purchased:
taco sauce
taco shells
1 pkg veggie mash (something new that looked interesting)
pesto
dog treats
sour gummi bears
neosoprin and bandaids
dish soap
Total spent was: $22.38
total left: $18.64

Getting back on track .....
As you can tell it has been a long time since I have posted on this blog. We have had upheaval in our lives and I kinda let the food budget and the budget in general has gone to the dogs. Well it is time to rein it in again. Our debt has gone back up and I am not happy with it. I am frustrated with the level of chaos in our home. Our dd and her family have moved in back in March and brought with them their household supplies also. She receives food stamps for her family and she buys things that my dh and I don't eat. Our pantry looks awful.
So ...... for October we are eating what is in the freezers and pantry. We have a lot in all locations so this should not be hard. I will still have a food budget for fresh stuff though dd gets WIC and brings in milk, eggs and some bread with that. Her husband is a very picky eater and demands meat with every meal. Dh and I don't eat like that.
Sept 21 was our last payday and i allotted $125 for food. This is to last two weeks. My last grocery shop, yesterday, was for $20.25. I got the following:
1 bag white cheddar popcorn
2 bottles Honest Tea
1 lb turkey lunch meat
1 pkg of Sargento cheese and snacks
1 bottle Orajel mouthwash (for dd)
I got $2.00 from Ibotta from the above shop. I am using Ibotta for my Christmas money and I am already up to $320.90. I have 63.00 left of grocery money to last until Oct 5. I will be at the farmers market on Oct 2 and 5 for fresh items, though I have a $5 farmers market coin that is not added into the totals I have $68 instead. I am not sure what I will need to finish out September so I will post that later along with an inventory and menu ideas.
