Getting back on track .....

As you can tell it has been a long time since I have posted on this blog.  We have had upheaval in our lives and I kinda let the food budget and the budget in general has gone to the dogs.  Well it is time to rein it in again.  Our debt has gone back up and I am not happy with it.  I am frustrated with the level of chaos in our home.  Our dd and her family have moved in back in March and brought with them their household supplies also.  She receives food stamps for her family and she buys things that my dh and I don't eat.  Our pantry looks awful.

So ...... for October we are eating what is in the freezers and pantry.  We have a lot in all locations so this should not be hard.  I will still have a food budget for fresh stuff though dd gets WIC and brings in milk, eggs and some bread with that.  Her husband is a very picky eater and demands meat with every meal.  Dh and I don't eat like that.

Sept 21 was our last payday and i allotted $125 for food.  This is to last two weeks.  My last grocery shop, yesterday, was for $20.25.  I got the following:

1 bag white cheddar popcorn
2 bottles Honest Tea
1 lb turkey lunch meat
1 pkg of Sargento cheese and snacks
1 bottle Orajel mouthwash (for dd)

I got $2.00 from Ibotta from the above shop.  I am using Ibotta for my Christmas money and I am already up to $320.90.  I have 63.00 left of grocery money to last until Oct 5.  I will be at the farmers market on Oct 2 and 5 for fresh items, though I have a $5 farmers market coin that is not added into the totals I have $68 instead.  I am not sure what I will need to finish out September so I will post that later along with an inventory and menu ideas.
